4th of July

Celebrating the 4th of July has always been interesting! Kira doesn't really love fireworks, they tend to scare her! We went to Jess and Kevin's for a BBQ and to play in the water. Once again the kids had a blast and Dax was much braver in the water!

Roger got monster sparklers which the kids had a blast playing with! They especially like the cups so their hands didn't get burned!

Later that night we set off a variety of other fireworks. Kira being Kira decided she was tired about half way through and put herself to bed in the car!

All the other kids loved them and couldn't get enough!

Swimming Lessons

Kira has turned into a little fish! She is doing an amazing job and I am so proud of her!
She has now learned how to do the front crawl and breast stroke, she is also working on being able to float on her tummy then roll on to her back and back to her tummy again!

She has even gotten brave enough to jump off the diving board!

First Summer Pool Party

Kira has such amazing Aunts and Uncles! I am so blessed to have married into such a wonderful family! Jess and Kevin with Jeremy and Jill bought a really fun water slide and pool combo! The kids had a blast playing in it! Although Atticus and Dax had to warm up to it, but Kira, Clark and Lexi were having a great time cooling off in the water!

This is the first of many summer parties!

Last Day of School

I feel it came all too soon! I can't believe my baby is growing up so fast and is now already done with Kindergarten! We have loved all the Kindergarten teachers but ofcourse our favorite is Mrs. Hadfield! She has been so encouraging and has helped Kira to learn so much this year. It amazes me that Kira started the year not knowing any letters or number and now can read and sound out words! Her progress has been so amazing!
During Kira's last day they got to enjoy activities with all the Kindergarten teachers!

Thank you again to Mrs. Hadfield for all you have done this year!

Chocolate Pilot

Kira's last day of school started out with a visit from the Chocolate Pilot! It was a really neat event for the kids to enjoy!
It is a tradition brought from WWII, where a pilot took it upon himself to bring a bit of cheer to the kids of Germany by dropping chocolate from his plane. Now Kira and her friends get to enjoy his legacy as his grandchildren and family dropped large chocolate bars for all the kids to enjoy!
